Ingersoll Rand Signs Deal to Protect NASCAR

NASCAR plans on revving up its security by setting up a partnership with Ingersoll Rand (IR) Security Technologies. IR will now be NASCAR’s official partner of security solutions and products. The four-year partnership will include IR developing security systems for NASCAR’s facilities, including the speedways it hosts races on.

NASCAR and IR will also collaborate on developing security best practices. IR says that among its products to be used in NASCAR facilities will be its Schlage® hardware, fixed and portable access control, and biometric systems.

That partnership has already been in effect for the start of NASCAR’s season. At February’s Daytona 500, IR developed a custom security system that protected the area of Florida’s Daytona Int’l Raceway where the official race tires are stored. The protection included CCTV cameras, DVRs and security lighting.
