Integrator Forms Alliance With IT Provider

CHANTILLY, Va.— In a union between electronic security and IT security, integrator Orion Systems Group (OSG) of Fairfax, Va., has formed a strategic alliance with IT solutions provider Intelligent Decisions Inc. of Chantilly, Va. The two companies will work together to provide commercial and government clients with a complete security solution for the protection of their property and the protection of their computer network and equipment.

OSG President and CEO David Taylor says he noticed three years ago the need to integrate physical and IT security and finally found a partner when the two companies announced the alliance July 20. “As equipment has become more tied to networks, the need for information to be sent on networks to remain secure is a big thing. It’s a natural progression for us,” Taylor says. “It’s nice to have a partner in the IT world who speaks their language.”

The two companies together will offer CCTV, access control and physical intrusion detection while also offering network intrusion management, authentication, network operations and policy compliance for their clients.

“The ability to offer a complete package is important. It is critical for us to work together and learn from each other,” says Intelligent Decisions Director of Cyber Security Ted Ritter. “The end user wonders why two different people are doing security installations. End users love this.”
