SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Cognitec Systems, a Germany-based provider of face recognition technologies, has signed a software development and license agreement with Intel Corp.
Under the agreement, the companies will cooperate to apply face recognition to electronic devices, such as PCs, laptops, tablets and mobile phones, to replace conventional passwords.

Face recognition will enable the owners of millions of computers, tablets and mobile phones to protect their devices and access them conveniently and quickly without having to remember passwords, says Alfredo Herrera, managing director of Cognitec.
