Intercity Alarms, an independent security company based in South Yarmouth, announces that it has acquired Wayne Corp. of Fairhaven, Mass. Wayne, which had been owned by Wayne Nichols of Mattapoisett, services approximately 1,200 customers in the state’s south coastal communities. Nichols had operated the security firm since founding it 25 years ago.
“After 35 years in the service industry, and the last 25 in security systems and fire alarms, I have decided to change my work schedule from 24 hours a day, seven days a week to 40 hours per week,” says Nichols. “After careful consideration, I decided the best way to do this and continue to service many longtime customers was to sell all of the company assets to Intercity.”
Ridgway Crouch, president of Intercity, adds, “This is a very exciting time for us. “Our top priority now will be ensuring a smooth transition as we integrate these two highly complementary companies, so that we can begin providing our new customers with the same superior service they have come to expect and depend upon under Wayne Corp.” Intercity, a Davenport Co., carries fire and burglar alarms as well as access control and CCTV systems.
