Interface and Greater Alarm Merge

Published: November 30, 2004

ST. LOUIS — Award-winning security integrator Greater Alarm Co. Inc. has merged with St. Louis-based integrator Interface Security Systems Holdings Inc. Greater Alarm will operate as a subsidiary of Interface with founder George De Marco continuing as president and COO.

Greater Alarm stretches Interface’s reach beyond its Midwest base and marks the continuance of an aggressive acquisition strategy that has seen the company involved in 21 transactions since the start of 2002. Interface has indicated the Greater Alarm merger will be the start of further acquisitions in the California and Western markets.

“We will require the technological, financial and human resources of a more substantial organization,” De Marco says. “Partnering with Interface is an important step forward for Greater Alarm, its employees and, most importantly, our valued customers.”

Greater Alarm was founded by De Marco in 1981 and is one of the larger security companies in California. Greater Alarm is also one of the more prolific winners of the annual Sales & Marketing (SAMMY) Awards, including winning the grand prize for 2004 Residential Installation of the Year.
