Interlogix Inc. announces it has acquired the assets and rights to technology of the video transmission product line from 8×8 Inc. (dba Netergy Networks). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The 8×8 product line allows for the transmission of security video and audio signals ov4er standard phone lines or high-speed ISDN lines. The 8×8 video transmission line will be incorporated into Kalatel, an Interlogix operating unit. Kalatel is a manufacturer of advanced digital video transmission equipment and CCTV products and will market 8×8 products under the Kalatel brand name. “Interlogix has extensive integrated technological capabilities. The acquisition of the 8×8 product line helps us achieve our goal of offering broad product lines in all key markets that we serve and makes it easier for security product dealers to construct integrated security systems,” says Ken Boyda, president and CEO of Interlogix.
