IR Imager Offers Wide Field of View and Does Not Require IR Illuminator

Published: October 31, 2006

Flir of Portland, Ore., releases the SR-19, a low-cost thermal imager with a reliable, uncooled sensor. The SR-19 provides a wide field of view and is suited to legacy network applications with composite video output.  According to Flir, the SR-19 includes the firm’s advanced image-processing technology, which means it delivers excellent contrast no matter the scene dynamics.

The product is a passive infrared thermal system that enables detection of intruders without the use of an IR illuminator. The imager’s processing functions are automatic and the all-weather, corrosion-resistant housing protects it from adverse conditions.
