Iridian Technologies Inc., a developer of iris recognition technology and a biometrics company, announces it has agreed to a multiyear, multimillion-dollar alliance with Matsushita Communication Industrial Co., Ltd., best known for its Panasonic-brand products, and a manufacturer of security products for global markets. Both companies have established a partnership to manufacture, distribute, market and further develop Iridian’s Authenticam(tm) and other iris recognition products.
Matsushita has also been granted licensing rights to Iridian’s patented PrivateID(tm) software, along with the company’s supporting server technologies. The deal provides for the development of Panasonic-branded version of Iridian’s Authenticam, a network and workstation security product that combines the authentication capabilities of iris recognition with the productivity enhancing qualities of a videoconferencing camera.
