It appears Intel is considering selling its security business.
The Financial Times reported Intel has talked to bankers about possibly selling its cybersecurity business in what could be one of the largest deals in the sector.
Intel Security largely stems from its acquisition of security software company McAfee for $7.7 billion back in 2011. If the business is sold for that amount or higher, a group of private equity firms might join together to buy the business, according to the report.
Intel is reportedly considering selling the business so it can focus on delivering chips for cloud computing and connected devices.
