LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Cleveland-based Align Capital Partners (ACP) has acquired ISA Fire & Security from Gen Cap America of Nashville, Tenn.

The transaction for undisclosed terms gives ACP a majority stake in the company following a recapitalization.

Based here, ISA Fire & Security operates across the United States. A large part of its client base is with national property managers, according to an announcement. The business has about 100 employees, with nationwide service provided through a network of subcontractors.

ISA Fire & Security provides inspection, maintenance and repair services and sells new, repaired and remanufactured parts for fire and security systems. The company’s team of engineers/designers and NICET-certified technicians can design, install and program multiple fire and security alarm brands.

“ISA is a great example of the business attributes and industry dynamics that are core to ACP’s investment strategy,” says ACP Managing Partner Steve Dyke. “The company has been successful in building a unique, dual-pronged service and parts model facilitating niche leadership within a large, fragmented market.”

ACP will focus on growing ISA through organic growth and acquisitions under the continued leadership of CEO Mike Epperson.

“Due to the hard work of the ISA team and support of Gen Cap over the past seven years, we’re well-positioned to execute on multiple growth channels,” says Epperson. “I look forward to realizing these expansion opportunities with our new partners at ACP.”

ACP Managing Partner Chris Jones, Operating Partner John Dupuy, Vice President Jack Parks and Associate Jonathan Vadiee worked alongside Dyke on the transaction.

The acquisition marks the fifth platform investment by ACP since closing its first fund at $325 million in 2016. The firm focuses on control investments in growth-oriented, lower-middle market niche manufacturing, distribution and business service companies.
