ISC East to Feature Systems Integration Sessions, False Alarm Symposium

Published: July 31, 2002

ORLANDO, Fla.—This year’s International Security Conference (ISC) East show at the Orange County Convention Center is slated to have something educational and technical for all attendees.

In conjunction with the event, being held Aug. 14-16, the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) will sponsor and conduct a systems integration educational program for commercial integrators.

Due to the issue of false alarms and verified response spreading across the country, the Alarm Association of Florida (AAF) will conduct a special forum to discuss questions and concerns related to alarm response, ordinances, private patrols, fines and fees. The association will also have seminars, including one regarding Florida’s license renewal program.

The First Annual Integrated Systems symposium, scheduled for Aug. 15, will include a panel of security professionals who will talk about the size and scope of the growing commercial systems integration market. Trends and strategies, as well as the technologies that are driving this market, will be addressed.

The Home Automation Show is again being linked with ISC East for dealers and other professionals expanding their business in the integrated home market. This show will couple well with a seminar on a new certification program related to residential systems integration. The seminar is scheduled to inform attendees on the acceleration and adoption of home technology products and services.

A list of other seminars are scheduled throughout the three-day event, targeting present issues related to biometrics, access control and digital CCTV. One particular seminar will outline digital video from compression to transmission methods.

In addition, the show’s New Product Showcase (NPS) ceremony by the Security Industry Association (SIA) will be held Aug. 14, right before the ribbon-cutting ceremony kicking off the show. The association received a total of 44 entries.
