NEW YORK — In presenting the inaugural ISC Solutions, a rebranding of ISC East, event organizer Reed Exhibitions stated its goal was to offer an applications-centric event geared toward serving the needs of end-user customers.
While final attendance numbers were not available at press time for the event, held Nov. 3-4 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, a preliminary snapshot of attendee demographics suggests Reed met its main objective, according to Ed Nichols, vice president, strategic accounts, Reed Exhibitions.
The largest percentage of attendees were end-user customers from the health-care, government and campus market niches, followed by installing security contractors. Nichols also said the show’s more than 250 exhibiting vendors supported the rebranding strategy with a 16-percent increase in exhibitor renewals.
“We set out to offer a solutions-based event this year and were happy to see that the concept was embraced,” Nichols said.
End users could select from a range of educational and case study sessions held in two “Solutions Theaters,” which anchored the center of the exhibit hall. Featured presenters included representatives from the electronic security industry, law enforcement, security directors and others.
Educational programming for installing security contractors remained a focal point for the revamped tradeshow. Reed again partnered with PSA Security Network to offer a series of intensive educational sessions to focus on multiple vertical market segments.
Attendees to next year’s conference can expect another new wrinkle. Security Industry Association (SIA) announced the investors’ conference Securing New Ground will be co-located with ISC Solutions and the Tri-Association Awards the first week in November. Called “Security Week,” more information on the combined events is available at www.securityweek online.com.
