ISC West Conference Focuses on Federal Government Impact on Security Marketplace
NORWALK, Conn.
Organizers of the International Security Conference (ISC) and Expo West 2003 are producing an expanded conference program for the March 25 – 27 event at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas. More than 80 educational sessions and special events regarding integration, technology and Homeland Security will be offered.
Aside from conferences, the ISC West’s exhibit hall is scheduled to have more than 700 companies in access control, biometrics, CCTV, systems integration, home systems, alarms, fire control inventory, inventory control, monitoring and more.
ISC will hold an industry summit, presented by the California Alarm Association (CAA), Wednesday, March 26 and will feature an address by former CIA Director Stansfield Turner.
Governmental industry leaders presenting conference sessions include Sandia National Laboratories and the DoD Access Card Office of the Department of Defense. Some new topics in the government relations area include a course on how to reach the federal market through GSA’s Federal Supply Schedules Program. GSA’s program allows federal agencies to obtain the latest in commercially available products and services. Additional groups include The National Biometric Security Program, International Biometric Industry Association, Door and Access Systems Manufacturers Association, and companies such as Intel and Texas Instruments.
The International Biometric Industry Association will present a panel that will look at the industry from the top down—where are the technologies, potential markets, educational efforts, and standards development and certification programs.
Other topics on the program are workplace violence, infrared technology and night-time video, and what’s new in the 2002 NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm Code.
