ISC West Showcases New Products, Technologies

The ISC West show floor provided integrators and dealers with the chance to get the scoop on some of the most innovative technologies currently on the market. Dozens of companies announced the release of new products, technologies and plans for the future. Below are a few notable product announcements that hit the floor this year.


3VR Security S-Series SmartRecorder

3VR Security Inc. releases its S-Series SmartRecorder, a compact and economical video system built upon 3VR’s searchable surveillance platform. The S-Series is a true hybrid DVR/NVR offering video management features and expandability without sacrificing support for the video analytic, biometric, data integration, and search features, according to the company. Its enterprise management and bandwidth optimization features make it suitable for large and small businesses alike.


AMAG Symmetry M2150 Controllers, Readers

AMAG Technology launches Symmetry™ M2150 range of multiNODE Controllers and Readers. The fully flexible range of intelligent controllers and readers are designed for building security systems.

The product can be combined in more than 50 configurations to provide access control for up to 16 doors in one location and up to 72 inputs or 72 outputs for monitoring and controlling security devices. It offers three different networking options including the highest levels of encryption available, a wireless alternative, plus a traditional panel-to-panel connection to help reduce networking costs.


Avigilon Control Center HD Surveillance Software

Avigilon’s Control Center High Definition (HD) surveillance software now offers support for cameras developed by Panasonic, Axis, and Sony.

The Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based company’s Avigilon Control Center 4.0 will record and manage video from a wide range of 3rd party IP cameras and analog encoders for the purpose of building hybrid systems and preserving existing assets. Management of surveillance video from 3rd party cameras and analog encoders will be in its native compression format, including H.264, MPEG4, or MJPEG.


Axis Q7404 High Performance Video Encoders

Chelmsford, Mass.-based Axis Communications’4-channel standalone video encoder has H.264 video compression to reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without compromising image quality. The video encoder integrates four analog CCTV cameras into an IP-based video surveillance system.

The product offers intelligent video capabilities such as enhanced video motion detection, active tampering alarm and audio detection. Each video channel has two configurable inputs/outputs for connections to external devices such as sensors and relays, which enable the system to receive and respond to alarms.


Bosch AutoDome Easy IP Camera

Bosch has released a new and affordable IP camera, the AutoDome Easy IP, designed for discrete surveillance in education and small retail and corporate settings. Measuring at less than half the size of a traditional pan/tilt/zoom (p/t/z) dome camera, the AutoDome Easy IP can match the coverage of four or more fixed minidomes, saving on installation and maintenance costs.

The camera incorporates a high-performance 100x (10x optical/10x digital) zoom autofocus camera with the latest digital imaging technology to deliver excellent sensitivity and resolution. Capable of real-time streaming in 4CIF resolution, the AutoDome Easy IP captures all the important details in a scene.


Canon VB-C500D Fixed Mini Dome Network Camera

Canon U.S.A. announces the new high-performance VB-C500D fixed mini dome network camera which features a stylish modern design, a range of advanced features and outstanding image quality, according to the company. The product was designed to capture high-quality video for remote monitoring over IP.

The VB-C500D is ideally suited for any location where a fixed security camera is required, including reception areas and convenience stores, tight spaces like elevator/ATM lobbies, and in upscale environments like hotels and condominiums where the camera needs to complement the interior design.


Dedicated Micros Integrated Camera Recorder

Dedicated Micros of Chantilly, Va., has taken a new approach with its Integrated Camera Recorder (ICR). The product comprises a full, enterprise grade, server – similar to those in our DV-IP range – integrated within an IP camera, ensuring that recording can be maintained regardless of the IP status of a network.

ICR can readily support key capabilities such as local storage, local viewing and playback, remote access, metadata integration, event logging/management and even analytics.


GarrettCom 6KQE Edge Switch

GarrettCom of Fremont, Calif., has added and entry-level managed edge switch to its magnum 6K line of industrial switches. The 6KQE is a compact, environmentally sealed managed Ethernet switch designed for physically and environmentally constrained installations such as at the perimeter of physical security networks, traffic systems, distribution substations and public safety applications.

The product’s modular design supports up to 8 10/100TX and 2 GigE Ethernet ports, with configuration options for TX or fiber interfaces and optional Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), as well as several integral power supply options.


HID UltraCard™ Premium Cards

HID Global of Irvine, Calif. launches its UltraCard™ Premium cards for High Definition Printing (HDP®) applications. The product’s composite material construction provides for maximum durability, flexibility and card life, with optimal resolution print quality for re-transfer printing, lamination and fluorescent panel ribbon printing applications.

The cards can be used with any card printer on the market, according to the company. The UltraCard Premium is also available in a variety of configurations including custom HoloMark™, custom VeriMark™ and magnetic stripe.


Honeywell ACUIX™ ES Dome Cameras

The latest addition to Honeywell’s line of pan/tilt/zoom (p/t/z) cameras is the ACUIX™ ES. Operating on less than 15 watts of power, the ACUIX ES is an energy efficient model that offers ease of installation and operation.

A mere 20.32 centimetres, the ACUIX ES has a reduced footprint that fits into most surveillance environments. ACUIX ES simplifies installation by reducing the number of parts installers must order. It includes an in-ceiling housing and a surface-mount configuration; installers can further reduce the profile by using an integral recessed mount. The surface-mount version also can be converted to a pendant mount by using an additional pendant top cap, which comes supplied.


L-1 Identity Solutions V-Station 4G

L-1 Identity Solutions of Arlington, Va., delivers the next generation of the Bioscrypt V-Station™ fingerprint reader built on its new 4G technology platform.  The product transforms an access control device into a smart security appliance through improved performance, usability and scalability.

The V-Station™ 4G is equipped with biometric and multi-factor authentication, powerful on-board processing for rapid and accurate authentication, sophisticated storage, extensible memory, 802.11 wireless connectivity, and full-sized color LCD displays, according to the company. Employees and visitors can also be informed with custom messaging.
