Jensen Hughes Acquires Stevenson & Associates

The transaction is said to combine two firms in the nuclear power consulting industry.

BALTIMORE — Jensen Hughes announced on Wednesday its acquisition of Stevenson & Associates (S&A), a provider of seismic and other risk and hazard engineering consulting services for the nuclear power industry. S&A also offers structural, civil and mechanical engineering services for other high value and special performance facilities.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Jensen Hughes has been busy in the past six months. Back in December 2015, it merged with Gryphon Investors and in April it acquired Aon Fire Protection Engineering Corp.

According to Jensen Hughes, the acquisition of S&A will bring together two leading firms in the nuclear power consulting industry. It will also increase the technical expertise and resources available to provide risk assessment and other engineering consulting services to protect clients against unusual events such as earthquakes, wind, blast, flood, thermal and vibration hazards.

“We are very excited to have completed the strategic acquisition of S&A, which is one of the leading firms within the nuclear power engineering services industry and has an attractive niche presence in the non-energy marketplace,” says Jensen Hughes CEO Phil Rogers. “S&A shares with Jensen Hughes a strong commitment to technical excellence while possessing innovative capabilities to address clients’ most complex needs. This acquisition adds an extremely talented group of engineers to the Jensen Hughes team and further strengthens our ability to provide lifecycle consultancy services to our global portfolio of clients.”

“The strategic vision and investment of both Jensen Hughes and Gryphon Investors coupled with the combined breadth of technical offerings, global office locations and commitment to expansion and growth, provides significant opportunities for our clients and staff,” says Walter Djordjevic, president of S&A.

Jensen Hughes is a provider of fire protection engineering, fire code consulting and related life safety services.
