Johnson Controls Inc., a security systems integrator and manufacturer, has acquired St. Louis-based software company Gridlogix. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition allows deeper integration of IT into building management, and puts Johnson Controls in a better position to help customers minimize the effects of rising energy prices, according to the company.

“We are trying to help large and global organizations integrate, measure, manage and reduce their energy costs through enhanced integration and systems management,” says Allen Martin, vice president and general manager, systems business of Johnson Controls. “With rising energy prices and increasing concern over the environment, organizations seek solutions – such as data on their key performance indicators – to help minimize the effects of market volatility.”

Gridlogix’s EnNET® platform allows building management systems to interface with open protocol IT systems to better manage energy, maintenance, physical security and compliance, which makes their facilities more energy efficient and sustainable.
