Facility and building managers utilizing Johnson Controls’ Metasys building automation system now have the option to integrate American Power Conversion’s (APC) Symmetra(r) Power Array(tm) and the Silcon Delta-Conversion online uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The Metasys system automates a building’s mechanical operations, including the monitoring of fire sensors, security, lights, HVAC and heating systems, as well as power protection equipment and more. APC and Johnson Controls have worked together to enable the Metasys system to integrate with APC’s Symmetra Power Array and Silcon Delta-Conversion uninterruptible power supply (UPS) via Johnson Controls’ Metasys Integrator(r) (MIG). The MIG, a popular connectivity device in the building controls industry, enables third-party devices and systems to communicate with the Metasys system.
“We are pleased to be working with a leader and innovator in the power protection industry to provide our customers with top-notch power protection products and services,” says Paul Schwarzkopf, connectivity solutions manager at Johnson Controls. “APC’s Symmetra and Silcon devices are just one more way for us to help our customers maintain their system availability and ensure their operations remain intact.” Johnson Controls is a global provider of automotive systems and facility management and control.
