Johnson Controls Earns CSAA Five Diamond Certification

MILWAUKEEJohnson Controls Inc. (JCI) has received Central Station Alarm Association’s (CSAA) Five Diamond certification for its alarm monitoring station located here.

To obtain certification, all of JCI’s central station operators had to pass the CSAA Central Station On-Line Operator Training Course. The classes cover all phases of central station communications with customers, law enforcement, fire and emergency services communications centers.

All operators had to show that they were proficient in alarm verification, communications with public service answering points (PSAPs) and emergency preparedness. In addition, operators had to prove that they understood the codes and standards of Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Factory Mutual (FM), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Earning the certification demonstrates that the company values protecting its customers, according to Paul Pisarski, manager, field support and remote operations, Building Efficiency, JCI.

“It reflects the dedication our central station operators bring to the job to protect the many customers we monitor every day,” he says.

There are about 2,700 central stations in the United States. Of those, fewer than 150 have achieved Five Diamond Certified status, according to CSAA.
