Johnson Controls, VidSys Introduces Solution to Minimize Risks for Healthcare Industry
LAS VEGAS — Johnson Controls will launch a security solution for the healthcare industry designed to enhance operational efficiencies, decrease costs and improve customer satisfaction, the company announced Tuesday.
The company has collaborated with physical security information management (PSIM) software provider VidSys for the solution. The platform collects information from existing disparate security and non-security building systems in one integrated, intelligent, decision-based system.
“The overall risks facing healthcare organizations are significant with increasing concerns for employee, patient and visitor safety, the growing need to protect and inspect medical equipment and medicine and ever-changing healthcare regulations,” VidSys Vice President of Business Partnerships Michael O’Dea says.“With this new PSIM-based technology, Johnson Controls further enhances its expertise and offerings to the healthcare industry.”
The solution analyzes information from access control, fire and intruder alarms, visitor and identity management, infant abduction, radio frequency location services and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, allowing security operators to quickly manage and resolve situations following standard operating procedure. The collected information helps rule out false alarms and minimizes risk to patients, staff and visitors.
