The California Alarm Association (CAA) announced at ISC West that Jon Sargent, CAA past president and industry relations manager for ADT in the West, is the 2010 recipient of the George A. Weinstock Award for lifetime achievement and service to the security industry.
The award, which will be formally presented to Sargent at the association’s annual tribute dinner during the CAA winter convention in San Francisco in December, honors individuals for exceptional service to the security and alarm industry.
Sargent is admired for his efforts in working as an industry advocate and for his ability in facilitating dialogue and goodwill with industry stakeholders, according to CAA Vice President Bob Michel.
“There maybe has never been a more deserving individual. He is a tireless worker for industry causes,” said Michel, who is president of Sun Valley, Calif.-based Valley Alarm. “If any alarm company in the country needs help dealing with law enforcement agencies and alarm ordinance issues, Jon is always willing to help them out.”
The George A. Weinstock Award was established in 1999 as the highest honor bestowed by the association.
