Kaba Purchases Keyscan Access Control Solutions
Kaba Group will now offer more solutions as a result of acquiring Keyscan Access Control Systems.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Kaba Group, an access control solutions provider, has announced its acquisition of Canada-based Keyscan Inc., a specialist in wired access control solutions.
The deal strengthens Kaba’s product offering in North America. The firm, which sells traditional standalone and wireless systems, will now offer Keyscan’s wired solutions for complete access control in virtually any commercial building through its Access & Data Systems (ADS) Americas division, according to a company press release.
“The integration of Keyscan will provide Kaba with access to a large, established network of low-voltage wholesalers, system integrators and security dealers, which presents valuable growth opportunities,” Kaba ADS Americas COO Michael Kincaid says.

Since 1990, Keyscan products have been installed in more than 50,000 sites, with 10 million credentials and 65 million credential transactions processed daily throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico.
By integrating Kaba’s electronic locks with Keyscan’s access control products, the firm expects to enhance the combined approach, such as wireless and standalone, wireless and wired, standalone and wired.
The combinations are expected to produce customized solutions for key vertical market segments and further defines Kaba’s channel strategy.
“Keyscan’s robust suite of access control hardware and software will be integral building blocks for future advancements in Kaba’s comprehensive access control solutions,” Kaba ADS Americas Vice President of Product Management Laura Reid says.
