Keltron Corp. Founder and President Announces Retirement

WALTHAM, Mass.

Keltron Corp. announces the retirement of Harvey M. Fox, president and founder of the Waltham, Mass.-based life-safety event management systems manufacturer. Fox will remain on the board of directors and continue to consult for the company.

“Harvey’s contribution to the success of Keltron and to organizations such as Underwriters Laboratories, National Fire Protection Association [NFPA], Automatic Fire Alarm Association and other fire protection associations is recognized throughout the industry,” says David Wilbourn, CEO of Keltron Corp. and a longtime colleague of Fox’s. “He has handed down his engineering skills and industry insights to our talented engineering and product management team who will continue the traditions and values that he personified during his active participation.”

Active in NFPA for many years, Fox is credited with designing alarm receivers for municipalities before central stations were conceived. Throughthe years, he built an experienced engineering team that developed many company firsts for Keltron, including the solid-state coded fire alarm signal decoder, multiplex data gathering panel and the use of microprocessors in alarm systems.

“Harvey’s impact on the fire alarm industry will far exceed his fulfilling retirement days,” says Robert Yerger, president, Berkshire Systems Group Inc., a systems integrator and Keltron partner.
