Keyware, a worldwide provider of biometric identification solutions, announces the acquisition of Neosys, providers of advanced E-commerce solutions, located in Belgium. Neosys will be integrated into the Keyware Internet Division, which develops technology designed to speed the growth of biometric-enabled Internet applications. The deal was worth approximately $3 million in cash and shares plus an earn-out incentive. Neosys specializes in setting up platforms for electronic business and is a strong player in the development and management of E-business (B2B) and E-commerce (B2C) solutions. Neosys also provides software for Web kiosks that can perform E-commerce transactions in public areas. Keyware plans to introduce its biometric technology into these public kiosks to enhance security and convenience for users.
“Keyware welcomes Neosys into our organization,” says Francis Declercq, president and CEO of Keyware. “Neosys brings a unique skill set to our development team. Its experience with public Web kiosks will do a lot to launch biometric technology into the mainstream. Public areas, such as airports and restaurants, will benefit from Web kiosks that can verify people with biometrics before they perform electronic commerce.”
