L-3 Communications of New York recently announced the appointment of Thomas M. Ripp to the position of president of Security and Detection Systems, a subsidiary. The new appointment, which is effective Sept. 12, comes on the heels of the appointment of Allen Barber, who will assume the title of group senior vice president of strategic planning within L-3’s Sensors and Simulation Group.
Ripp, who has 25 years of experience in general management, strategic planning and leadership, was most recently the vice president of Sensors and Advanced Packaging with Dover Corp.‘s Vectron Int’l business, a manufacturer of frequency control products.
