L-3 Communications Awarded $50 Million TSA Contract

L-3 Communications Security and Detection Systems Inc. announced that it has been awarded a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) maintenance contract valued at $50 million.

The contract specifies that L-3 will continue to provide maintenance for the eXaminer 3DX explosives detection systems and Linescan TIP-Ready X-ray systems that are installed at checkpoints in the nation’s largest airports.

Possible extensions to the contract include maintenance of any new L-3 equipment purchased during the contract period as well as annual options to extend up to five years.
