Leviton Manufacturing has announced its 2008 NEC Compliance Training and Sales Promotion program. The program is designed to educate electrical professionals on the recent changes to the National Electrical Code (NEC) that relate to wiring devices and telecommunication systems.

“Every three years the National Fire Prevention Association [NFPA] issues new NEC requirements in a phonebook-sized manual that is over 800 pages long,” says Tom Degnan, contractor channel development manager, Leviton. “Leviton simplifies the content and language, presents it in a straight forward way through our legendary spokesperson ‘Captain Code,’ and brings it to industry professionals in a pocket-size booklet that helps them comply with the latest code changes.”

Central to Leviton’s 2008 code program is the company’s Illustrated Guide to the 2008 NEC Code Changes. The guidebook offers readers cross references to the 2008 code, illustrations, a subsection summarizing a code change, and commentary and analysis.

“Our 2008 code program also consists of an ez-Learn™ training module that is accessible from Leviton’s Web site at leviton.com. Users can log on to the site anytime, anywhere to access more information and knowledge,” Degnan adds.
