Leviton Manufacturing Co. Inc., a producer of electronic wiring devices, has entered into an agreement to purchase ControlThink LC, a home and building control software and services company.
“Leviton is committed to offering innovative, market-sensitive products and services to the home-technology segment of our business. ControlThink’s extensive software and services capabilities will uniquely position Leviton as the premier industry partner for residential control solutions,” says Bob Becker, Leviton’s vice president and general manager, residential business.
ControlThink will operate as a separate, wholly-owned subsidiary and offer solutions to its existing OEM partners and customers, while aligning with Leviton to expand the market for intelligent home control solutions, products and services.
“Leviton made residential structured wiring a mass-market reality and we intend to do the same for home control. This acquisition creates many new opportunities for manufacturers and integrators to strategically join in providing best-in-class, end-to-end interoperable home control solutions,” says Ian Hendler, Leviton’s director of business development.
