Linear LLC of Carlsbad, Calif., has acquired Sunfire Corp. of Snohomish, Wash. A well-regarded manufacturer of high-end speakers, home audio, and home theater electronics and subwoofers, Sunfire becomes the newest member of the Home Technology Group, Linear’s fast-growing family of consumer electronics companies, products and brands. Bob Carver, President, will remain with Sunfire. No other terms of the deal were disclosed.
According to Grant Rummell, Linear chairman, “With the addition of Sunfire, our Home Technology Group now offers some of the best selections of speakers in the business – Sunfire joins Elan, Niles and Speakercraft.” Sunfire has been a premier manufacturer of audio equipment for 20 years. Its current product line includes subwoofers, preamplifiers, receivers, amplifiers, and related home audio and home theater electronics.
Linear is a pioneer in engineered radio frequency (RF) products and is a major supplier of wireless residential security systems, intercoms, garage door operators, gate operators, short and long-range radio remote controls, and medical/emergency reporting systems.
