Security system, access control and home control
manufacturer Linear LLC has added surge suppressors to its
product lineup with the acquisition of Panamax. Linear
announced its acquisition of the Petaluma, Calif.-based
Panamax on April 29 for undisclosed terms.
Panamax manufactures products designed to protect
electronic and electrical equipment from power
disturbances. Panamax’s main “Max In-Wall” products deal
with the power control of home theater products, including
plasma televisions.
Known for its wireless home security systems, Linear has
expanded its product portfolio in the past year to include
structured wiring and home control products. Since 2003,
