Linear LLC hopes to expand its stake in electronic security
industry with its recently announced acquisition of
audio/video mounting consumer electronic supplier OmniMount
Systems Inc. Calling the purchase “strategic,” the company
says the Phoenix-based OmniMount will provide Linear with
new opportunities to cross-sell with its other electronics
products and further expand its depth in the industry.
Since 1978, OmniMount’s products have included flat panel
mounting systems, speaker stands, audio/visual furniture
and CRT mounting systems.
According to the companies, such products complement
Linear’s consumer electronics brand wares like ELAN Home
Systems speakers, Speaker Craft speakers, ChannelPlus whole
house audio/video distribution systems, OpenHouse
structured wiring products and Xantech residential infrared
remote controls.
Linear is a supplier of wireless residential security
systems, intercoms, garage door operators and gate
operators.
