GE Security has added a Louisville, Ky., alarm firm to the
company’s hall of fame. CARE Security & Monitoring received
the honor during the recent GE Security convention in Kona,
Hawaii. The GE Security Pro Hall of Fame honors companies
that have made a direct effort toward saving lives and
property.
CARE was honored for installing a carbon monoxide (CO)
system designed specifically for a hearing-impaired couple.
The installation, which included strobe lights, later saved
the couple’s lives.
The hall of fame induction came as a surprise to CARE
Security President David Smith, who had no advance word
that the honor would be coming as he sat down for the Feb.
16 ceremony.
“I was sitting listening to the story thinking ‘Someone
else did that?'” Smith says. “All of a sudden, they got to
our name and I jumped up.”
