ATLANTA – Luma, the creators of a sophisticated mesh network Wi-Fi router, has acquired Nodal Industries, developers of the Numa, a plug n’ play network security device. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Luma will integrate the Nodal technology into its intelligent Wi-Fi system, making Luma the only router with the ability to actively scan, detect and block malicious activity on any device connected to the home network, according to a press release.

Using a database of threats combined with behavior analysis to pinpoint virus and malware on any device connected to the home network, Nodal’s technology utilizes network-level analysis to detect malicious activity and actively block it.

Marcus Eagan, co-founder and former CEO of Nodal, joins Luma’s executive team as director of IoT security.
