A German security firm reports that malicious malware targeting s Android smartphones is becoming more common.
Security firm G DATA found that some Android handsets are already infected with malware when they’re purchased by consumers.

G DATA’s research also revealed that the samples containing such malware had increased by 25 percent in the second quarter compared with the first three months of the year, Associated Press reports.
In its latest report, the security firm found that analysts could identify a new strain of malware every 14 seconds.

Researchers noted that some device by manufacturers such as Huawei and Xiaomi have modified apps designed to spy on users or display advertising.
Users can detect the malware with free software.
