Man Breaches Security at O’Hare

CHICAGO

The United Airlines terminal at O’Hare Int’l Airport was evacuated for about 2 1/2 hours overnight after a man avoided a security checkpoint by entering the terminal through an exit, officials said.

According to AP, based on eyewitness testimony and surveillance tape, authorities said the man may have boarded a plane for Detroit after the breach around 10 p.m. Oct. 15, Chicago Department of Aviation spokeswoman Monique Bond said.

Authorities in Detroit checked the 83 passengers after the flight landed, and police dogs searched the plane but found no sign of the man, Detroit Metropolitan Airport spokesman Mike Conway said.

The terminal at O’Hare reopened early Oct. 16 after Chicago police searched for the unidentified man but found nothing.
