MCS Fire & Security Receives DHS SAFETY Act Certification

SAN ANTONIO—MCS Fire & Security has received SAFETY Act Certification from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for its electronic security installation and integration services.

The certification of the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act (SAFETY Act) recognizes companies that provide homeland security services and solutions and provides liability protection to those companies and their clients in the event of a terrorist act.

San Antonio-based MCS Fire & Security is a full-service provider of procurement, installation, integration and maintenance of electronic security solutions and control systems for anti-vehicular barrier protection. Its customers include large private and public institutions,  including those involved in petrochemicals, nuclear facilities, energy,  transportation, healthcare, stadiums, among others.

To achieve SAFETY Act certification, MCS Fire & Security had to demonstrate that its services are able to deter, defend against,  identify, respond to or mitigate an act of terrorism, according to Wally Wallace, MCS’ executive vice president of sales.

“MCS Fire & Security can now deliver another important added value to our customers, an added layer of liability protection to help customers in the event of an act of terrorism,” he says. “In offering this benefit to MCS’ customers, we are taking advantage of a DHS program specifically designed to protect our country, our citizens and our critical assets with advanced anti-terrorism technologies.”
