Media Concepts Inc. and Top Box Inc. announce Home Tech Works as the name of their joint venture in the home automation arena. The name is designed to clearly communicate the company’s activities and assist in its emergence as a main player in the home automation industry, says Erik Vidrio, president and CEO of Media Concepts.

According to the both companies, Home Tech Works has developed a “next generation” residential structural wiring system, a so-called nervous system for the home. With the system, consumers can add energy, lighting, security and entertainment equipment in an integrated communicative system.

“Homebuilders and consumers alike are beginning to understand that residential wiring for technology is the modern day equivalent of plumbing. If they want to run Internet, entertainment, security and energy-saving systems throughout the home, they have to install the ‘pipeline’ and ‘faucets’ to deliver the goods,” Vidrio says.

The company is offering its residential wiring system and upgrade packages to the developers market beginning in Southern California. Media Concepts is a diversified electronics and media technology company.
