LONG BEACH, Calif. – Mercury Security, a supplier of OEM access control hardware, has appointed Matthew Barnette as president. Barnette, who previously held the same position with AMAG Technology, will be responsible for leading Mercury through its next phase of growth in developing open, integrated access solutions for customers.

Barnette has more than two decades of experience in the security and access control industry, where he has focused on driving innovation, strategy and customer-lead profitability for a number of organizations, according to a company statement. Prior to joining Mercury Security, he held several executive leadership positions at AMAG Technology during a 12-year tenure at the access control company. He was appointed president of AMAG in July 2013.

Prior to AMAG Technology, Barnette held positions with Andover Controls, Intellikey and Sensormatic Electronics.

“Matt’s deep industry expertise, leadership and vision are perfectly matched to drive the shared mission and success of Mercury Security and its valued partners,” says Joe Grillo, CEO of ACRE, the holding company that acquired Mercury Security in 2013. “As an industry veteran known for his successful track record and customer-centric approach, I am confident that Matt has the proven ability to build upon the strategic support delivered to Mercury partners and capture the increasing market demand for open and interoperable access control solutions with Authentic Mercury hardware.”
