Mich. Parks Install Video Surveillance to Deter Vandals

Published: April 3, 2013

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — In an effort to stop vandalism, this city will place security cameras in as many as six parks.

The city will install Q Star Technology motion-activated cameras, which are also portable and solar-charged. Additionally, the cameras, which provide high-resolution images, talk to vandals, letting them know they’ve been caught in the act, CBS Detroit reports.

The cameras, which will cost $41,000 to install, will be deployed within the next few weeks.
