SAN DIEGO — A new partnership between MicroPower Technologies (MPT) and Sprint extends wireless transmission options for MPT customers.
MPT and Sprint have entered into an agreement that allows MPT to leverage Sprint’s network as an additional channel to transmit wireless video. Sprint’s network currently reaches more than 282 million people nationwide.
MPT’s MicroPower Rugged-i is an integrated, solar wireless IP video camera. Because it is not constrained by wires or cables for power or data, users can deploy the camera from any location, according to the company. Ideal for remote locations and a comprehensive solution, the Rugged-i is maximized by a 3G/4G uplink from Sprint to secure video transmission to the back haul.
By utilizing Sprint’s wireless mobile network, users can place MPT cameras virtually anywhere at a fraction of the cost of conventional surveillance systems, according to MPT Founder and CEO Jon Siann.
“This partnership allows us to enable customers to reinforce the security perimeter and extend protection,” he says. “It also promises high reliability through wireless transmission and immediate system deployment.”
