ESPOO, Finland — Mirasys, a developer of open-platform video management software (VMS), has announced integration with Quanergy Systems’ 3D LiDAR sensors.

Mirasys says the new integration capabilities with the Quanergy Systems’ OPA-based, solid-state LiDAR sensors and 3D solutions provides users improved analytics and insight for security applications in the government, retail and gaming industries.

“Quanergy LiDAR is the new gold standard for 3D perception in the security industry thanks to its unmatched accuracy,” says Max Davis, business development manager at Mirasys, “Quanergy’s 3D LiDAR platform offers rich 3D point Cloud data that integrated with the Mirasys VMS platform delivers powerful insights that will be invaluable to our user base within the security and smart city markets.”

The companies explain that Mirasys’ data capabilities allow users to extract data and other information from old and new cameras and sensors. Mirasys points out that its software platform offers integrators the ability to install quickly and easily, and it provides both users and integrators high levels of data security and openness.

Mirasys and Quanergy continue by noting the 3D LiDAR sensors enable customers to optimize their business operations with real-time data that includes location, direction, speed and type of objects. The sensors also provide greater control of a building’s perimeter with the ability to count people, as well as other features such as occupancy dashboards, alarm activation for pre-established incidents; the ability to set exclusion zones and smart reports, and the QORTEX DTC  LiDAR platform supports the classification of vehicles to ensure efficiency when integrated with the Mirasys VMS.

In addition, the companies emphasize, the use of the 3D LiDAR sensors provide accurate and reliable performance in kinds of weather and lighting conditions, including very bright and poorly lit environments. These attributes allow for their use in both indoor and outdoor situations, Mirasys and Quanergy adds.

“LiDAR-based security solutions provide incredibly rich and detailed data, enabling advanced analytics and deeper insights with more accuracy than ever before,” comments Gerald Becker, vice president of market development and alliances at Quanergy. “The integration with Mirasys will bring the value of LiDAR to an even wider audience.”
