TORONTO – Mircom Group, a provider of fire/life-safety and mass notification systems, announces the acquisition of advanced emergency communications company Metis Secure. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Located in Oakmont, Pa., Metis Secure’s products include control and integration software, notification and communication hardware, and redundant networks including independent wireless mesh. Its client base includes research and industrial facilities, universities and schools, large parking garages, and commercial and government sites.

Organizations use Metis Secure systems to broadcast targeted, actionable emergency alerts and instructions to everyone at the site of an emergency, even if power, cell networks and Internet are down, according to a press release.
