New Mobotix Camera Series Supports ONVIF S and G Profiles

The Mobotix Move line is designed to address the widest range of use cases, including support for H.264, integrated IR light, wide dynamic range and mechanical p/t/z models.

LANGMEIL, Germany — Mobotix has launched a new video surveillance camera family called Mobotix Move to supplements its current portfolio.

The new line allows end customers to benefit from additional features and meet a wider range of indoor and outdoor use cases.

Customers can now obtain Mobotix Move products as they provide standards-based technology as well as products with unique Mobotix features from a single source backed by industry leading quality and reliability, according to an announcement.

The new series models are the company’s first cameras to support both the ONVIF S and G profiles with video streaming at 3MP and 4MP resolution up to 30 frames per second (fps). Available in four models — bullet, vandal-proof bullet, fixed dome and two-speed domes — all models are PoE powered and IP66/IK10-rated for flexible deployment.

“Mobotix Move is a recognition that we need to bring the same level of expertise to a wider range of projects that have a specific requirement,” says company CEO Thomas Lausten. “We listened to our global customers and integrators and created a new product family that delivers standards-based features while retaining the build quality, reliability and innovation that Mobotix is renowned for within the security and access control market.”

Mobotix Move is also the company’s first camera range with motorized varifocal lenses, high speed mechanical pan/tilt/zoom (p/t/z), speed domes and wide dynamic range (WDR) sensors at up to 4MP resolution. The built-in software offers smart event functions, remote zoom and focus, plus iris control on autofocus Lens.

Each device includes a built-in SD card slot and certain models have integrated IR LED illumination. The true day/night feature with integrated movable IR cut filter technology provides color images at day time and monochrome infrared sensitive images at night.

With full ONVIF support, the new models can natively support the widest range of video management software and NVR devices, including p/t/z control, audio, multicasting and relay outputs, according to the company.

All Mobotix Move devices can be controlled via integrated web GUI using PC-based browsers and will also be natively supported in the upcoming 2.0 version of Mobotix Management Center due for release in Q4 of 2018. The news series will be available from Mobotix distributors at the end of July and will be supported by technical training events for registered partners.

One response to “New Mobotix Camera Series Supports ONVIF S and G Profiles”

  1. Joe B. says:

This is concerning for those of us who are are specialize in Mobotix for two reasons:

    1. the MOVE range is rebranded Dynacolor OEM so it does not provide us with an innovative differentiator.

    2. the equivalent Dynacolor cams can be purchased at a much lower discount through Dynacolor’s larger distys.

The double whammy is the Mobotix VMS, MxManagmentCenter, does not support the new Mobotix MOVE devices so they cannot be plugged into the same system with the Mobotix camera line which means you have to buy Milestone licenses to make it happen, which makes no sense.

This decision to rebadge Dynacolor to my mind, smacks of desperation to make sales. I’ve been watching the Mobotix share price falling and falling — it really is a worry for us Mobotix certified partners.
