Network camera provider Mobotix has released Dr. Magnus Ekerot of his position as CEO, effective Feb. 17.
Ekerot, who joined the manufacturer as chief sales officers in 2011, was promoted to CEO in October 2013.
The ousted executive was responsible for the Mobotix partner program, which has been criticized by many for adding unnecessary red tape.
Mobotix CFO Klaus Gesmann will take over the role of CEO and sales oversight “until further notice,” according to a company press release. Dr. Oliver Gabel will remain as chief technical officer.
