LAS VEGAS — The Security Industry Association (SIA) named the MorphoAccess VP from MorphoTrak Inc. as the “Best New Product” at the 2012 New Product Showcase (NPS) on Wednesday.
MorphoAccess VP is a physical access control reader that integrates multimodal finger vein and fingerprint biometric technology into a single sensor and device, which reduces installation costs, while increasing security levels, according to SIA.
“The NPS program recognizes products that meet a previously unmet need,” SIA NPS Chair Jennifer Martin says. “The judges saw that in MorphoTrak Inc.’s MorphoAccess VP. It’s this kind of innovation that exemplifies what the NPS is all about.”
The Siqura BC620WDR from TKH Security Solutions received the Judges’ Choice Award. The network box camera is credited with providing superior performance and wide dynamic range (WDR) under all lighting conditions.
As many as 70 products and services were entered into this year’s NPS. There were 21 categories presented during the ceremony in addition to the “Best New Product” and “Judges’ Choice Award.” The judges also presented five honorable mention awards.
