Mountain Acquisition Co. Acquires Western Security Systems in Colorado

Mountain Acquisition adds to its portfolio of alarm and protective services companies that specialize in the Colorado ski resort marketplace.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — Mountain Acquisition Co. (MAC), an Aspen, Colo.-based holding company, has acquired Western Security Systems, a provider of residential, ranch and commercial security services here and the surrounding Yampa Valley.

In a press release, MAC states this latest acquisition will increase its annual revenues to nearly $12 million and more than $435,000 in recurring monthly revenue (RMR).

Western Security has provided fire and intrusion detection systems, access control solutions, automation, video surveillance, wireless communications and monitoring solutions to its clientele for more than 30 years, according to the press release. The company has cultivated numerous strategic relationships with architectural and design firms, developers, builders, general contractors and electrical contractors.

“One of our objectives has been the continued consolidation of the alarm and protective services industry sector in the Colorado ski resort marketplace. The addition of Western Security to the MAC portfolio of companies now places us in a leadership position in Aspen, Snowmass, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and now Steamboat Springs,” says MAC CEO Chris Heath. “Western Security enjoys a diverse and broad-based group of clients which include resort residences, ranches, commercial and institutional facilities in Steamboat Springs and surrounding areas bringing enormous value and [RMR] to Mountain Acquisition’s portfolio.”

Owned and operated for more than 20 years by Frank Bradley, Western Security Systems has experienced steady organic growth by offering solutions that deliver superior quality and value, according to the company. The company offers products by Bosch, GE, Honeywell, among others.

The Western Security brand will be maintained in the marketplace. The company will be managed by industry veteran Tim Stanley who also owns a sizable equity stake in the new venture.

Managed by Heath and Fred Maurice, MAC also has offices in Glenwood Springs, Silverthorne and Denver, along with an office located in Northern California. MAC is focused on the acquisition and strengthening of well-established alarm companies that are leaders in their markets while staying committed to exemplary customer service and technical support, according to the firm.
