The DV-IP network video server by Dedicated Micros Inc. (DM) of Chantilly, Va., features streaming video that requires just a third of the bandwidth usually required for such an application. According to DM, this is accomplished through the use of MPEG-4 technology, in which each digital image is reduced in size by changing the compression to create smaller files that use less space.
Features include a spot monitor output to provide a visual deterrent that indicates a CCTV system is in place; tamper-proof alarms; and an improved audio setting. The audio setting allows the installer to set the audio quality to best support the specific application.
