Mylo Voice Assistant from Nice Improves Smart Home Experiences

Employing the new Nice OS8.9 platform, Nice states that its new smart home interface solution understands user location and device preferences so users can intuitively manage their smart home preferences.

CARLSBAD, Calif.—Nice, a global developer of home and business management solutions, has launched its new Nice Voice Assistant, Mylo.

The company says that voice assistant is designed to transform the smart home experience. Nice points out the Voice Assistant is embedded directly into the Nice Home Management platform, and the company states Mylo offers homeowners speed, reliability and data privacy.

“Voice control has been in need of a refresh to provide a simplified, more intuitive experience for end-users,” says Paul Williams, global managing director of home management business unit at Nice. “We’ve listened closely to our dealers to understand the needs of their customers and we are thrilled to deliver a solution that truly transforms the way users interact with and manage their home.”

NiceOS 8.9 Powers Mylo Voice Assistant Performance

According to Nice, context-awareness is at the heart of the Mylo Voice Assistant. Leveraging over 20 years of development and the latest enhancements introduced with NiceOS 8.9, the company asserts the voice assistant understands user location and device preferences so users can intuitively manage their media, cameras, climate, lighting, and security with natural language control.

Nice explains that interfaces can be associated with a specific area or media zone, allowing users to issue commands without needing to specify a location or unique device name. Homeowners can personalize their interaction by selecting male and female voices and customizing acknowledgment sounds, putting them in complete control. With continuous over-the-air updates, the Mylo voice assistant is constantly evolving, adding new features, language support, accent comprehension, and an overall smarter voice control experience.

In addition to enhancing the lives of homeowners, the Mylo Voice Assistant is designed to empower dealers. The voice assistant delivers a sophisticated system that avoids complex programming for integrators. With a simple set-up and standard programming, integrators can streamline installations and reduce support calls, which in turn helps them provide exceptional service for their customers.

Nice also emphasizes that as part of its integration with the Nice Home Management platform, the Mylo voice assistant will also be compatible with Sonos. Late last year, Nice became the first partner to achieve a Works With Sonos certification, which allows users to search, manage and sync their Sonos music with other elements of the smart home, such as lighting or shading.

In addition, the Nice Mylo Voice Assistant is also compatible with Nice SC100, SC300, SC150, and SC350 controllers running Core OS 8.9 or later, paired with ITP Touch Panels and Nice HR40 remotes. This integration enables users to intuitively manage and synchronize their home systems, seamlessly combining control over media, lighting, shading, and more into a unified experience.
