This week the National Monitoring Center (NMC), a new central station company for independent alarm companies nationwide, went online and live, monitoring alarm accounts from its central station in Aliso Viejo, Calif. The company is located in a 10,000-square-foot facility and features custom designed dispatch stations in an open environment with the latest technology, according to the company. It officially opened on Oct. 15, 2001, by industry veterans Michael Schubert and Woodie Andrawos.

The central station uses MAS Mastermind software, which enables dealers to receive and review real-time information on monitored accounts through MASweb, an Internet-based product.  It also has a hot redundant telephone service and is located on an uninterruptible power grid.
