A security provider based in Connecticut is expanding its size and reach through two acquisitions. National Guardian Security Services Inc. has established a base of operations in Florida by acquiring Maitland, Fla., retail security provider Corporate Security Management Inc. (CSMi) and boosted its Midwest presence through the purchase of Kansas City-area dealer Strong Alarm Co.
Terms of the purchases, completed at the close of 2005, were not released.
CSMi, founded in 1990, is the prime acquisition among the deals, providing electronic security services for large retail clients nationwide. Among those clients are Petco, Toys ‘R’ Us, Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
“By focusing primarily on national accounts, we are able to provide consistently superior service and value to our multilocation commercial customers,” says National Guardian President George Flagg, in a statement. “These acquisitions increase our geographic reach and service capabilities, while also allowing us to accelerate our growth plans, including the rollout of new services.”
National Guardian received a $10 million cash infusion from an equity firm in July aimed at increasing the company’s growth through acquisition.
Strong Alarm, based in Overland Park, Kan., will become one of National Guardian’s Midwest branch offices.
