A projected hundreds of early childhood care providers, elementary, K-12 schools, high school, and college and university administrators, professors, campus police chiefs, first responders, safety professionals, and community leaders will convene at the National School Defence and Security Conclave & Exhibit 2010, which will be held on March 25-26 in Toronto.

This conference will address topics of high concern such as school shootings, bullying, dating violence, vandalism, gang activity, alcohol and drugs, bomb threats, child abuse, vandalism, school massacres, catastrophic events such as pandemic outbreaks, tornadoes, terrorist attacks, and technological intrusions. Associations, academic institutions, EMS providers and law enforcers will showcase the country’s statewide initiatives on school defense and security for the development of the best practices for the school community.

The conference is organized around four themes: prepare, response, protect and recover.

Speakers will help attendees develop effective action plans that are unique to their own communities and engage the widest range of local stakeholders to make our high schools and college campuses safe and secure. Real-world simulations of community response to school shootings, related tragedies, and global outbreaks will also be featured in this conference. The tabletop exercises will encourage audience participation and explore effective methods of partnerships, coordination and collaboration at the local level and relate them to a national context.
